Tiny Barbarian DX: The Serpent Lord Review

a1693485418_2Introduction: Today for the release of the Tiny Barbarian DX: The Serpent Lord OST I’ll be doing a review. Jeff Ball is the action hero behind this OST. I can totally recall the Astroman soundtrack review I did,  and here is a link to the original Tiny Barbarian soundtrack. You pick it up for $4.99 and it’s totally not robin you. I was planning on having this review done on the 1st of June, but after the 6th day of waiting the OST got put up fully on bandcamp.

Knightmare Tower – Original Soundtrack Review

Introduction: Long time no see. I heard the Legendary Hyper Ducks had come out with a new album so I figured it was my duty to all things IGM to do a review of this OST. The soundtrack I am reviewing today belongs to a game with a reckless disregard for physics, Knightmare Tower. I’ve played through the whole game and it’s fun little distraction of a game with a good leveling up system. You can get the OST here for about a $1.50.

Tower of Heaven OST Review

I kind have got a better hold on my position at work and things aren’t as stupid crazy busy right now until my kid is born, then it’ll probably will be again. But until then, I’m gonna try and get some updates in. Also, trying out a new rating system, we’ll see how it holds up.

Indie Game Music Bundle 2

First, I’d like to apologize to the entire community for not keeping up with updates. With the training in my job and how much of a time sink it is, it just hasn’t left me with much time to go on the computer let alone write on this site. I also don’t know if it’ll get any better after I’m done training this Friday, but we’ll see. Chances are I won’t be able to post updates very often at all. What I’m gonna be looking for is someone who can write for the site and do updates to more or less replace me. If anyone is interested, please send me an e-mail. I’ll of course will still be providing the hosting.

Adventure by Souleye Review

1695987157-1 tmb

Introduction: So Souleye decided to release some new music. Well, yesterday (Jan 10th 2012) was that day. Well, granted, it’s not ALL new music, it’s still stuff that hasn’t been released by Souleye in a proper form before. I usually get pretty excited when Souleye comes out with new music as I loved the VVVVVV soundtrack. You can pick it up at Souleye’s site for $10 USD and preview it at his bandcamp page.

Notes: The mass majority of the album is either chip-tunes or quasi-chip-tunes.

Desi Leaves Town Official Soundtrack Review

4238395044-1 tmb

Short Announcement: To help with reviews, I have joined a Toastmasters club. The Toastmaster’s club have specific programs to help people improve on their reviewing techniques, so I will be taking part in that every Monday night from now on.

Cornelis Jordan sent me an e-mail telling me that on January 8th, he released the soundtrack for the game Desi Leaves TownDesi Leaves Town seems to be a half movie half puzzle game hybrid with witty dry upper class humour thrown in, which right now is only for iPad but should be coming out for PC/Mac this month. The Desi Leaves Town official soundtrack can be procured at Cornelis Jordan’s bandcamp page here.

Mighty Switch Force OST Review

…And we’re back!

This another one of those albums where I’m debating whether or not they are ‘indie’ enough to be reviewed on this site. When in question, I usually like to side with if it’s good music or not. So I figure since it ends up on the side of good music and it’s a Name Your Price album and he already had a soundtrack on the Indie Game Music Bundle, then today we’ll be going with Virt‘s new soundtrack, the Mighty Switch Force OST. You can pick up the soundtrack at Virt’s bandcamp here.

Super Meat Boy! – Choice Piano Cuts Review

34733522-1 tmb

Released Wednesday Dec. 21st 2011 is the solo piano cover album Super Meat Boy! – Choice Piano Cuts by Brent Kennedy. The original Super Meat Boy tracks were of course composed by Danny Baranowsky and be heard on the Super Meat Boy OST, the Super Meat Boy! Double CD Special Edition Soundtrack, or the Super Meat Boy! – Digital Special Edition Soundtrack. You can get the Super Meat Boy! – Choice Piano Cuts album for $4.99 at Danny Baranowsky’s bandcamp page here.

Notes: All the songs are piano solos, so it’d be redundant to state things like “this is a piano solo…” for song notes.

Big Giant Christmas EP Review

Sorry for the mini-hiatus there. I’m still in the process of finding an income, but I have sent out a metric crap-ton of resumes so hopefully something will pop up.

Yesterday (Dec 20th 2011) Big Giant Circles (aka Jimmy Hinson) release an EP called the Big Giant Christmas EP. It’s all about Xmas tunes that have been converted into chip-tune/fakebit tossed into modern synths with the usual classic instruments for your listening pleasure. You can pick up the album at Big Giant Circles’ bandcamp page here for $2.99 USD.
